Default Trans shifts slow into 3rd gear

I have a 2000 3500 with a V10 and the trans shifts slowly and softly into third . Is there band to adjust for this or is it all electronic?

It only has 58k miles and just had the trans fluid changed but that did nothing.

Check out the TV cable adjustment procedure in the manual. That should do it for you.

Think I would change the TPS, and see if that doesn't take care of the problem.....

Mine likes to hold First forever.... unless I step harder on the gas, then it shifts sooner, which seems really counter-intuitive to me.....

I plan on pulling the throttle body, and changing it where it's (hopefully) easy... as opposed to trying to scale the side of my truck. Got a new air filter while I was at it.

2 step ladder but a step chair is better because it puts you a few inches closer to the truck

towel as mentioned . hang it down so goes between the step chair if you use one to keep it from scratching the truck . drape the other end over the fender and battery etc.

a #25 torx as mentioned but as mentioned but attached to a 1/4" drive is best . use a 1/4" micro/fine ratchet.

remove plastic air inlet hose from air box then pus the end of hose down to get it out of the way.

remove outer half of air box . there may be a wire loom laying over the last top clip on the rear of the air box . if you can't easily push the loom out of the way use a very, very long thin screw driver to pry the clip up.

remove the 4 nuts holding the inner air box half to the throttle body.

pull air box out far enough to remove pcv hose from the back side . put grease on fitting and inside hose before reinstalling hose.

remove both screws on tps.

if you can mot pull the tps out much at at all to get to the plug, cut the electrical tape holding it to the wire loom.

i use channel locks on both sides of the plug to compress the clip while i GENTLY pried the plug off working back and forth from one side to the other.

use a small mirror to inspect throttle body housing where the tps attaches . if there is a small chamfer on the bore you are supposed to use the 0 ring that comes with the kit , otherwise use the gasket.

use the new screws that come with the kit but put grease on them.

i had to clock the new tps so the top screw hole was lightly toward the passenger side of the truck before it pushed all the way into place . once it is LIGHTLY pushed flush against the throttle body, rotate it back slightly until the holes line up and install the new screws.

i put dielectric grease on the outside of the tps where the plug goes to make it easier to remove if i ever have to do that again.
