without really tearing into things, a 52mm throttlebody and a real tuner like an sct from hemifever are the best mods i have found so far. spacers and chips not really useful. the factory air cleaner was fine, so is the cai if you like the look, not really any better than the stock unit. cam and heads would be the next real upgrade.

having seen dyno charts the intake manifold is an iffy upgrade to me, especially for the price. on paper it really kills the bottom end grunt, but does keep getting better until it surpasses the kegger at the top end.

these engines really seem starved for air from what i've seen. they respond really well to anything involving getting air into them. except spacers and cold air intake. dodge did a good job designing the factory airbox.

i'm just getting into it myself, but this is what i've seen so far.

The throttle body spacer doesn't do anything either. If your truck were carbed, then yeah, maybe it would help, but, on a port fuel injected motor, a spacer doesn't do squat, aside from lighten your wallet.....

What kind of power are you looking for, and what is your budget for this little project?

Welcome to DF!

id like to keep it within a couple hundred dollars, and the main thing im looking to get out of it is some more mid range pull and some more acceleration, 1st through 2nd has great pull but once i get in 3rd it seems to fall on its face until the rpms come back up...ive had a few people say to change the gearing as well, any insight on that?

Rear gears would help, but if you are 4x4, then you'd have to do the fronts as well. And you ain't getting that done for a couple hundred. Honestly, with that budget, you really are not going to be able to do anything useful. Save your money for a tuner.

Look up Flyin Ryan Performance and buy a SCT tuner with one of his canned tunes, best easy mod you can make....And as you add mods the tune can be adjusted.

EDIT....And yeah, he's the best out there.

im getting ready to list a set of R/T Magnum heads #7140 and an M1 dual plane intake. my post count isnt high enough to list it but its listed several other mopar sites and facebook mopar sites and racingjunk this would be a nice upgrade for a Magnum. we dynoed lots of combos and its a shame our circle track rules changed. the heads and intake P5007381 are brand new
