i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2LV8 RWD and its making a whistle/whine noise when im accelerating. it goes away when i let off the gas and it coasts for a few seconds but as soon as i accelerate it comes back. its not knocking when i turn so i dont think its a wheel bearing. its also like 15 degrees and windy today if that makes any difference. any assistance in diagnosing this would be greatly appreciated thankyou.
no i turned off the radio and all i have done recently is change the rotors calipers and brake pads. also changed out my spark plug wire going from computer to distribution cap
So can you tell where its coming from? Front of the engine? Trans? Elsewhere?? Does it make the noise at low enough speeds, you could have someone walk beside it, and try and find it?
yeah it sounds like its coming from the front part of the engine now that u say it, i popped the hood but i cant pin point exactly where its coming from.
Actually, if you recently did brake work, it is probably there. Pads squealing or something. Or if you took off the air box assembly, and didn't get it all the way on, it will whistle. And what spark plug wire goes from computer to distributor??? I need to check mine, probably got a virus. . .

whatever plug goes from the engine to the cap that tells what spark plugs to fire off, whatever its called
