Default 00 1500 wiper motor electrical issue

hi last year i had ice on winshield wipres froze i worked it and i guess burned out

i had replaced motor wasn't i and then found groun problem but it had burned that motor too when i bypasse the little black ground wire and just ran it to frame of truck worked for a bit then burned out the motor i guess

i got a replacement truck for parts it works in that truck put in ym truck no goo as i figured it was the mf switch.. nope if i put my ground wire to the motor works but i don't don't wanna burn it out...

but is here a wiring diagram or test procedure to knoe where that black wire goes too... so i can cut it off at base an run new wire to it... and is there a test to know if any of these wires melted so i can repair it.. or would it be just the ground wire shorting things.... as i don't want to short out it again like to make sure that not electrical is fused shorting etc... motors not cheap.... ohm readings or whatever procedures be great please

You can download a service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W. Should help quite a bit.

Welcome to DF.

Just because the wire is black, don't assume that it should be a ground.

You need to check the manual for proper color codes of the wires.

ah ok well if you ground the motor then it works... those other 4 wires get voltage for the delay.... the other truck I got for parts is ground when I test it

and I haven't found the wire section page for my computer its slow so trying to flip through it I dunno what page the wire diagram is all I seen at beginging 8w

Your truck is an '00. What year is the donor truck? Yes, it makes a difference. In '97, they went from switching the positive side ('96 and earlier) to switching the ground.

I'll look for the wiper schematics for you but they are listed in a separate sub-chapter in 8w.

(This requires me to get up, off my *** and away from my coffee, to go to the pc. I hope you appreciate this...)

my truck is a 2000 ram 1500 Larmie SLT the donor truck is a 2000 ram 1500 larmie basic truck

the 4 wire I get the different 12volts to it for the Delay Low and High... and then the ground wire supposed to be ground but that's where I getting the positive voltage as its 4 wire harness plus ground or least I thought ti should be ground

ok so trying to view it does the G100 BK wire going to mean ground on the 2nd image not sure and not sure what a PTC is

and in the first pic only shows 2 wires going to the wiper motor...
so still not sure what the other 2 wires in the harness do and if that 5th wire is actually the ground wire that's BK in the 2nd pic and its going to a G100 8w-15-17 what ever that means I guessing something called a g100 on that page
I try to reload that document ran out of memory lol
