Can you recommend an app or reader than can pick up the transmission temperature sensor? Nothing I have is getting any info. Struck out with Torque as well

I wish I could. So far, I haven't found any software out the wild that does what I would like it to. I think you are going to need some variety of scanner. Got any friends that work in a garage?

Finally just decided to tear into the tranny to see what I could find. I think I found the issue:

Works great with the new piston and spacers

Wow! Who rebuilt that OD 5000 miles ago? Where were the broken locator pins, rolling around or in their proper pockets?

One of them was rolling around, the other stayed put. The washer and the trust bearing were both fused to the piston. Basically everything in the OD was fused together. I'm not sure if there was fault in the OD itself, or if the shim wasn't set perfectly. I heated everything up enough going through the mountains so It may have just been that. Don't really know.

Was the OD engaged on the inclines, or did you have it off?
