Hmmm. I'm unable to pick up a transmission temperature at all... I will try a different reader tomorrow

Can you recommend an app or reader than can pick up the transmission temperature sensor? Nothing I have is getting any info. Struck out with Torque as well

May have to use an IR thermometer.

I wish I could. So far, I haven't found any software out the wild that does what I would like it to. I think you are going to need some variety of scanner. Got any friends that work in a garage?

Default I'm new here my 01 Ram 1500 doing same thing

overdrive only engages after about 25 minutes drive time then it works great the OD button works as it should then shut the truck off then it all restarts I cannot scan it bc my obd has no power I've checked the fuses ''tis truck is gonna give me a run for my money I've replaced the speed sensors on trans and diff any thoughts please help fluid smells well used but not burnt 192k on it I believe original trans

Finally just decided to tear into the tranny to see what I could find. I think I found the issue:

Works great with the new piston and spacers

Wow! Who rebuilt that OD 5000 miles ago? Where were the broken locator pins, rolling around or in their proper pockets?

One of them was rolling around, the other stayed put. The washer and the trust bearing were both fused to the piston. Basically everything in the OD was fused together. I'm not sure if there was fault in the OD itself, or if the shim wasn't set perfectly. I heated everything up enough going through the mountains so It may have just been that. Don't really know.

Was the OD engaged on the inclines, or did you have it off?
