Default Fan clutch

Hey guys! Just joined, I wasn't able to find my problem I have having. Similar but nothing I am looking for. My truck is a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 2Wd auto with 192K

I just did my plenum repair from Hughes engines, and I removed the fan and the fan shroud so it was easyier for my to get into the motor, I changed out the coolent sensor, the thermostat and upstream O2 sensor, and modded my throttle body just toke off the walls, nothing inside the throttle body itself.

Anyways!

I was able to take my truck for a test run today, everything was good to go, but my motor has a really load roar to it. Witch it didn't have before, and the fan was hitting the shroud, I fixed that, but I checked to see if I was able to move the fan when the motor was off and a little warm, it was so tight I couldn't move it with all of my body weight on it. And when it is cold I can not move it either. From my understanding, your suppose to be able to move the fan and fan clutch freely when the motor is off? If it doesn't move. The fan clutch is locked up? Correct me if I am wrong. I checked for vacuum leaks. I have none. I have check the belt routing more then once, it is routed right

Now my question is? Is that my fan clutch going bad or is locked up? Or anything else?

I am not over heating, just a very load roar to the motor and can not move the fan and fan clutch freely.

Yup. And the roar you are hearing is the fan moving a LOT of air.

So update. I bought my new clutch on my way home from work, will install it tomorrow afternoon, but my question is that I tryed to spin the new clutch and I held the nut and spun the clutch itself, it was still tight, toke some force but not to much force to spin, I couldn't spin it like a wheel on the truck, is it suppose to be like that? Tight when it is new? I bought it from AutoZone.

Yes, When you first fire the truck up you will hear a roar then it will release.
