Default Need Help With Building Harness for Sport Headlight Conversion

Update* I figured it out and got it all wired yesterday. I build a 4 relay harness with fuses for each relay. Both bulbs act together, so if low beam is selected, both low beam filaments are on, same with highs. I am very pleased.

Hello everyone,

I have spent the last 2 days pouring over a billion forum posts about sport headlight conversions and have yet to find a definitive method for building the harness required. It seems that everyone purchased harnesses from a distributor that is no longer in business, leaving only the options of LMC (low quality), and daniel stern (long waits, expensive).

I have found one or two posts about actually building the harness, but the photo links are broken and the instructions are short and vague, often making references to other posts with broken links that cannot be followed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to power the headlights off the battery, using relays. I would like it to be set up to where when the low beams are selected, all 4 bulb's low beam filaments are active and all 4 high beam filaments are inactive. Vise, versa when the high beams are selected.

Thank you.

Might try speaking with Rick Eherenberg (the tech editor over at http://www.moparaction.net/). I had a running e-mail conversation about this a while back and he purchased the LMC harness after our talk and railed about how small the wire gauge was and how he was thinking about building one himself and doing an article about it.

Grab the 01 service manual from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W. You can verify wire colors there.

greencummins, you sent me a PM but your profile does not allow you to RECEIVE PM's so here is the message I was trying to send you.

I don't have a diagram, but I have a few links that you might find helpful.

Wish I had your patience and fortitude. I ended up ordering one from these folks for my sport headlight upgrade.
