Default 3rd gen suspension into a 2nd gen?

Just curious if the front and rear suspension from a 06 Ram 2500 diesel would swap into a 99 Ram 1500? Asking cause one of my friends has the complete front and rear suspension from his old truck. So he's going to toss it unless I want it. If I could swap out my worn out half ton suspension then I'm going to.

Is the donor 2 or 4 wheel drive? If 4 wheel drive, is it solid axle front suspension?

Would have to look, and measure. I don't know how much the frames changed for the 3rd gen trucks.

Only the 2500 and 3500 third gens were solid axle in front. If you have a 2nd gen 4x4, there are still lift kits out there in the world for it.

Ahh okay, yeah i know that lol, i was just browsing marketplace and found a killer deal for a lift and was curious on how compatible the axle/suspension was for these 2 trucks. Thank you for the info!

the biggest initial hurdle will be 3rd gen 2500 + trucks used 3" wide leaf springs, 2nd gens are 2.5" so shackles need changed out right away

I believe the 2nd gen 2500 and 3500 also had 3" springs. 1500's had 2.5".

I guess I'm not sure about the revisit, initial post was regarding a 1500.

In general terms the springs better be free, there's many more options that would be direct addition/swap that you can buy, vs buying something that isn't even correct
