How often do you plan to go in there.

If you want to make your life easier, should you need to be in there again, get the rubber gasket, and a drain plug to install as well.

Don't ever use cork for anything, It will leak! Do you know what cork is? Is it tree bark, That's not a good sealer use the rubber gasket.
