Hhhmmmmm....... I think something is amiss with your motor. Even synthetic oil should be that low..... I was thinkin' maybe you were using 0W20, or some such..... THAT might explain it....

I would be real tempted to yank the oil pump, and test it.......

Restriction in the oil passage to the sensor? Maybe?? (see that straw I am grasping at? )

Bed time for me. Got a family reunion we are hosting HERE (my place) tomorrow. Should be fun. I'll be glad when it's over.
I'm going to yank the oil pump and test it to see if that is the culprit. If not time to tear it down lol

I don't mind tearing it down. The oil pump tested good but I replaced it and still have the same pressure.

Well that's just bizarre. I am real curious what's goin' on there. Where is all the pressure going?

Sorry tour it down 3 times now. Everything is correct the first time the pick up time was dented so I thought maybe that, but I think it would cause it to increase not decrease.

Restriction in the pickup tube will reduce volume being pumped, which will reduce pressure.

Is the pickup to close to the bottom of the pan?

If all the tolerances are right...... Is there a restriction in the passage going up to the sensor?

That was when I first ripped into it since then had a new pump and has been tore down 3 times with everything being correct. I'm lost. What you said would make sense I was tired when I wrote that lol

Are you just running a stock pump? Have you tried a high volume pump? (or higher pressure pump?)

Can't remember the brand but it is a high volume pump as this beast takes 9 quarts of oil with the bigger pan and filter.

And all that does is confuse me more......

I can't think of ANY reason your oil pressure should be that low, on a NEW motor. Is your mechanical gauge accurate? Is a plug missing somewhere in an oil gallery? This just makes no sense at all.
