Get a crank sensor from the local dodge dealer. Our trucks don't really care much for the aftermarket fellers.

The aftermarket fellers can make for some interesting driveability problems.... anything from no start, to random, impossible to diagnose misfires...... If it's the wrong sensor, it may contact the flexplate that it reads from, and will get broken right quick.

just another update fixed the manifold but the noise turned out to be the crank sensor hitting something. it was a standard brand sensor. so I purchased a mopar sensor and I must say it runs much better but I can barely hear the sensor still hitting something. I dont see a way to adjust the crank sensor? any advice on where to go from here? I am scared to drive the truck with sensor hitting. thanks alot for everyones help

There are two different sensors. One for manual trans, which I believe is longer, and one for auto trans. Are they giving you the right one?

yeah Its not the long part of the sensor thats hitting. somethings rubbing on the side as a bit was wore off the standard sensor I removed. I had a friend tell me to remove inspection pan and inspect flywheel teeth as they could be buggered up, the mopar sensor is barely hitting compared to the standard sensor that produced a loud knock or rap

Might try loosening the bolts up a bit, and pushing the sensor in the direction it needs to go, and then tighten them down again. Make sure you aren't over-torquing the bolts though, might distort the bracket.
