You were correct I just checked the control arm bushings and they are dry rotted and cracked sticking out of the side of the control arms. I'm just going to order all new control arms with the bushings installed. I already sprayed PB Blaster on the nuts. Most everyone is telling me to just order new cam bolts and cut the old ones out but I want to try to loosen them first. I'll keep you up to date. Thank you so much for your help.

I'm using this style of control arms when I replaced mine when I encountered my bout of death wobble. They should outlast the truck.

Did you install the top control arms also? I like them because I can grease them when doing oil changes. I'm fixing my truck up because my daughter will be driving soon and I want it safe. It's costing a small fortune but when I'm done she will have pretty much new truck. The body work is almost complete. I'm in the process of welding patch panels in the rear. It's been a great truck and it has only 97,000 miles on it and most of them are highway.

It isn't the nuts on the cam bolts that are the problem. It is the steel collar in the bushings that like to weld themselves to the bolt shank. Makes them REALLY difficult to get out.

That gets stinky in a hurry, especially if you are working inside.

Yes, I installed both the uppers and the lowers. I'm extremely pleased with them and the poly bushings do not create a harsh ride in this application.

I was just thinking of cutting the head and nut off the bolt and pull them out because I'm ordering new bolts and control arms.

Well it is the control arms it's causing the axle to roll just a little bit and making wheel hop that makes it sound like the lug nuts are loose on my wheel.

How do other people get the bolts out? I was thinking of using a cut off grinder to cut the head and nut off to keep the smoke at bay. Any other suggestions?
