Default 2001 Dodge 2500

Hey guys, I have a 2001 2500 4x4 with a 5.9 cummings. It acts like it runs out of fuel but you can ease up on the pedal and it will pick back up for a little bit and then it does it again. I have put new filters and all i can think of on it but has not fixed the problem. Another question I have a wire that comes off of the throttle position sensor it comes out to a Y one goes to a computer the other is a blue wire with a black stripe it is unhooked and i don't know where it goes could someone please help. Thanks

Is the lift pump working? (in the tank.)

You can download a service manual for your truck from here.

Light blue with black stripe?

I am not showing a splice in that particular wire...... that is the sensor signal wire, going back to the PCM.

It is a factory splice in the wire one end is going to the PCM and the code is showing a weak signal to the TPS. And yes it is a blue wire with a black stripe.

Think I would just remove the extraneous wire. I can't find any reference to it in the wiring diagrams. May have been something a previous owner did?

As for your initial problem....... it sounds like a fuel starvation problem...... but, I wouldn't have a clue how to test that theory.
