The headlights I'm speaking of are 'stock' but an upgrade from the 'true stock' single bulb headlights that came on my '96 Ram truck. The headlights fit in the same spot as the original headlights, however, they stick out towards the rear a bit more than my original headlights did. I used a sawzall to trim the sheet metal in the headlight bucket area to accommodate the factory style sport headlights and they fit just fine otherwise. If you'd like to order these from RockAuto.com (TYC 20607000 & TYC 20606900 - there are other sport style headlights available that may be less expensive), they will work, but you will need to upgrade the wiring harness to handle the 2nd bulb in the headlight on each side. If you're going to go through the trouble of replacing the headlights, I'd highly recommend upgrading to the later model 2nd gen 98.5+ sport headlights. These are much brighter than the single bulb style headlights, especially when used with a relay style headlight harness that provides headlight current directly from the truck's battery.

I did try some Anzo headlights a while ago, but I couldn't stand those, as they tended to have a weird beam pattern and weren't very bright (they were single bulb headlights). I sold them and purchased the 98.5+ sport headlights for my truck after seeing them in another local guy's 2nd gen truck while purchasing some cylinder heads from him.

The 98.5 and up sport trucks had a four headlight system. (two per side) all in one housing. It isn't too bad of a job to convert the 2 headlight system to 4, on pre-98.5 trucks, gotta do some fender massaging for them to fit, but, newer than that, it's a direct bolt on. Then just need the correct harness for them.

That said, I just replaced my single bulb housings (complete with turnsignals, etc) and called it a day. After aiming them properly, I am pretty happy with the light output. (LMC harness in there as well.)

I greatly appreciate the recommendations for switching to dual-bulb headlights & harness but after sinking six grand into it from Oct-Feb, I will just order regular lamps and call it good for now and maybe someday when I restore the truck.....
I also need to replace the used door lock actuator that just arrived for my '08 Cayman that I purchased last Spring. It came with one fob and non-operational key hole in the door. The fob was getting glitchy so I replaced the battery, it then no longer worked and the door would not unlock. A locksmith arrived but decided that he did not want the liability of prying the window out enough (only 12" between door and roof) with the balloon in order to get his bent wire inside. I then took it upon myself and was successful with another method. The car started but cannot lock the door.
It is now it is time to order the lamps!

I did not expect to have any responses to a two year old thread. Do threads go back to the top every time someone responds? If so, is this common on other forums?

I would like to start a new thread that will condense one of my past threads into a condensed version now that I know the answers. I think it would benefit anyone who is doing a repair search online or on a specific forum as scrolling through threads/multiple threads looking for answers can take hours. Is this frowned upon?

Again, thank you for your suggestions.

Yeah, the typical sorting method for threads is the one with the most recent post is on top. That's pretty universal. You can alter that behavior if you wish, but, I don't see the point. I want to see the threads with new posts.... I am just not interested in going thru several HUNDRED pages of threads, searching out the ones with new posts.
