On mine there are ground straps from the back of each head to the firewall. From the firewall connections I ran additional wiring direct to the battery negative.

Maybe. That's a random misfire code. Likely a vacuum leak. How old are the plugs? (no plenum gasket on the V-10.)

Along with what HeyYou suggested, here is a page that advises a spark plug wire reroute for the V10: .http://dodgeram.org/tech/gas/Trouble/ping.htm.. Check under the hood at night and look for any sparks jumping around from the wires. Also check the condition of the spark plug wires too. This would be at least a good place to start.

Thanks guys, Interesting read Torks head. I Have just changed the plugs to NGK platinums. And the wires are brand new thanks to a rabbit I found munching on the #7 wire. My fear is that the plugs are not cold enough. I will have to look and see what the temps are for them as opposed to stock.I also replaced the upper plenum gasket when I repaired/replaced the 2 (6&8 injectors are under the manifold) injector connectors and wires. After reading the Article above I will check the wires at night and also check fuel pressure and the lower gasket for leaks. I have checked all the vaccum lines connections to the manifold and valve covers all appear to be good. This truck sat a good long time at least 2 years so who knows and I repaired at least 25 wire from rats. I replaced the fuel pump. The mesh filter on the end of the pump had disintegrated so I drained the tank and added some Lucas injector cleaner. My other concern is the fuel requirements for the V10. Hopefully the pump I put in flows enough. What are the LPH requirements for the V10? I have some spare Ford Lightning pumps that flow 255LPH I am sure 1 would be adequate. My lightning motor uses 2- 255Lph pumps for a combined flow of 510Lph!! Along with what the article above said I will also replace the T-stat to a 180* and check the EGR valve for correct operation. Gotta get this thing to pass smog so cant have any codes thrown. Thanks again for the help

What pump did you put in there? If you just picked up a stock replacement, you will be fine.

Yes It was a complete replacement unit that I picked up for a great price. So far at least regarding parts this trucks parts have been very affordable except you need 2 more plugs and a quart more of oil

2 more quarts of oil. (takes 7)

Gotta be careful on fuel pumps. The 'great price' may not seem so great when you get to replace it again in a few months. Air-Tec are famous for that......
