Default M1 intake

I just scored an M1 mpi intake manifold for dirt cheap ($150). I’m looking at putting it on my 360. What sort of gains will I see, and will I lose mpg?

Gas mileage will likely drop initially, as you enjoy the more responsive go-pedal. You will lose some low end torque, but, you will gain power in the mid- to upper-rpm range.

In and of itself, the M1 is not really a good mod for a truck. Combine it with better heads, free-flowing exhaust, and a nice cam..... and you get a winning combination.

Where did you find it and what part of the country are you in?

Since you will lose some low end torque, be sure to factor in some better gearing to compensate.

I don't know the exact model number. I know that it is a zeus casting and it is set up for mpi. I'm in Indiana. I bought it off a guy in Texas who had this plus a procharger set up on his 360. It's in really good shape, it just needs polished up.

Funny! He's probably legit - I found an M1 two barrel MPI intake locally here off craigslist pretty cheap a couple of years ago complete with injectors and throttle body.

Anyone have any hp numbers or anything? I already have headers, free flowing exhaust, performance plugs, wires, and distributor. No one has any real performance numbers put up anywhere

Just intake flow numbers that I've seen - besides, horsepower results will vary wildly depending upon your combo. FYI - https://www.allpar.com/mopar/performance/manifolds.html

BTW,
what is the part number on your M! intake? Also is it EGR or non-EGR? The one I found has an EGR provision.

Mine is non EGR. I’m at work now, so I can’t get the number

As said the hp band will be moved up in the higher rpm range and you will loose low end. Using the M1 you can get more hp when combined with other mods. Links below may help you out.
