Why would you want to? Not like these trucks don't already have a stiff ride.

Plus 2500 shocks are longer and might not compress down all the way like the 1500's.

That's why you use shocks that have 200,000 Mikes so it's not as rough and what are you talking about. My truck rides like a dreams that's why I bounce around so much when I'm driving... From the joy lol the compression I don't think would be to much of an issue

My truck rides like it doesn't even HAVE any suspension. I am on a first name basis with every rock, bump, and dip, in the roads around here.

425 gallons of water weighs in at 3544 pounds. There is nothing you can do to your half ton truck to make it haul that weight safely. Need to put the tank on a trailer.

Go with the Monroe 58610. Price compare Rock Auto, e-Bay, and Amazon. I had these on my 1997 and it barely dropped when I had my 18' dovetail loaded with scrap. I have similar heavy duty shocks on my 2007. Be advised the rear will bounce a lot when you're not carrying a heavy load. Also, when installing these, you may have to wedge them in place with a pry-bar even with the axle hanging by the springs (I did). I've installed a comparable set on a friend's Chevrolet and he says the truck handles great, with no ***-drooping, when hauling heavy loads.
