Default 1995 46rh no forward gears after rebuild

So I have a 1995 dodge ram 2500 4x4 360 (gas). So I have a 46rh trans, originally would not move what' so ever. Changed tranny fluid and filter. The pan was caked with black stuff. Cleaned it all out, and installed new filter and put everything back together truck drove fine after that. But when the truck would get to operating temp it would pour tranny fluid out of the bell housing in (reverse). Wouldnt leak a drop in any forward gear. So I pulled tranny out replaced front seal, and reinstalled the transmission. It still did the exact same thing in reverse. So I pulled tranny again replace the front pump. Reinstalled the transmission, also changed filter and fluid again. Once everything was back together took it for a drive didnt even make it a mile, transmission quit completey. No forward or reverse. So I ordered a rebuild kit and a transmission manual for the 46rh. It got here pulled tranny out followed every step, put everything back together. Filled up with fluid and I have reverse feels super strong, but u put it in 1-2-d u can feel I engage but not enough to move the truck. I pressure checked the front and rear clutch with the valve body out and they are both engaging. Any ideas?

Thanks guys, I don' have a way to check the pressure, but I am going to pull the transmission back out and take it apart and make sure I put everything together correctly.

That's a lot of work! Just buy a gauge somewhere and test pressures. At least you will know it has pressure, If not then remove it find out whats wrong.

You may even be able to rent one from the local parts store.

If you didn't replace your torque converter, you recontaminated your new transmission. Flushing isn't acceptable. There are too many places for contaminates to hide. Also did you flush the tranny cooler and lines?

Yes I replaced the torque converter and flushed tranny lines every time I pulled tranny out, with the air compressor.

I'm glad to hear (read) that! Did you check the fluid level in neutral? They don't pump fluid in park so you'll get a false reading. Did you use the correct ATF+4 transmission fluid?
