Default 01 Ram 4x4 leaking front diff fluid out of new axle seal

Hello,

i recently installed a new axle seal on my passenger side. TWICE, and it is still leaking. I filled the diff till it came out of the full hole. I have heard of only
filling it till about 1/4” below the fill hole. Could it possibly over filled? I used 80w-90 and made sure that the vent tube was not blocked. I also bought a custom tool for $85 that claimed to seat the seal perfectly. I’m beside myself on this one.

Thanks!

Didn't install the seal dry did you?

Check out the second gen ram section. (if you haven't made it there already.)

Is there a burr on the axle?? With the correct tool, that *should* be an easy job.

Hhhmmm..... That should work find then. Does it start leaking right away, or after driving it for a bit?

I’ll wake up and see a some oil on the tire. I know it’s not residual because I completely cleaned out the axle tube. I drove to work today and It didn’t seemed to leak.
