Well, my truck is currently dead in the water.
Troubles started a couple months ago, initially, it was just having a hard time starting. This has progressed to not starting at all. The last time the truck ran the engine quit suddenly while on the highway. After sitting about 10 minutes it restarted and I managed to limp home, but haven't been able to get it started since. Check engine light was not on during any of this. Started simple, I have good fuel pressure at the rail. I replaced the ignition coil as well as the plugs, and I am now getting good spark. It tried to start, but couldn't quite get to idle before dying. I'm currently at a loss where to go from here. Any suggestions?

Are you getting injector pulse?

 

Try holding the throttle to get it to run. If it's just a idle problem the iac/tb may need to be cleaned. If the problem persists(dying at speed) i would replace the crank and cam sensor. Especially with 250K on it.

 

I do have an injector pulse. I'll try the sensore. Does anyone have a part number for the cam sensor? I'm having trouble tracking one down

 

If you have injector pulse, and spark, cam and crank sensors are doing their job.

So, you are either getting too much fuel, or not enough, are the plugs wet?

 

Reconfirmed with a noid light, I am getting injector pulse. Getting 45 to 50 lbs of fuel pressure at the rail. Plugs are wet but didn't appear overly so

 

If they are champion plugs, replace them.

Do you have a scanner? Can you see what temp the PCM thinks the engine is?

 

Just replaced with NGKs with Autolites, no changes. I will check the temp this afternoon

 

Engine Temp read 68* I did get an engine code of P0351 with out the CEL

 

Primary coil circuit problem.

That would definitely give you a no-start condition..... but, you are getting good spark from the coil??
