Default Headlight Switch Issues

Ok guys 96 Ram 5.9L (360) I'm a pretty good mechanic and this has me at a lost. So my problem was I had to go in between "clicks" to get the park and say lights to come on which meant no headlights. You are thinking replace the switch, so did I so I replaced it samething. Now what I did notice was the **** you push/pull was bent could that cause this? What I did right now was ran a jumper wire from the park light wire (Bk/Yl) to the headlight wire (LG) so when the headlights come on so do the park lights. That's the only other thing it can be. I did also replace the connector (whole package cost me a pretty penny)

That shaft being bent *shouldn't* be a problem. That behavior is REALLY strange......

I thought maybe it being bent wasn't making contact because if I keep the **** where the bend is (in-between clicks that park lights come on. It has me stumped.

Yeah, weird. Faulty new switch? A look at a wiring diagram is in order here. Where do the parking lights get power from when the headlights are on? Possible broken wire or corroded contact?

Can't be because if I run a power wire to the park light wire right behind the headlight it lights up

The bent shaft is the only common factor there then....... Probably find out at a junkyard pretty easy?

It would have to be in the switch then?

I wonder if the bent shaft is pushing something out of position when it's pulled.....

We should all get together at my place. Throw some beers in the fridge, get the bonfire going, some brats on the grill...... (that's 'brats', you know, a form of german sausage. I don't regularly grill little kids..... but, it HAS been known to happen....) We could discuss this problem in depth, come up with some theories, drink a few more beers, and maybe try some out.
