It should yeah just by the numbers with offset what would you say, slightly negative maybe like -12 of something like that, give it the extra bit of room?

I should be able to put 36" in there if I wanted to since the only thing that'l change is the height, the width doesn't, still 12.5 according to manufacture specs.

At that point I'd have to watch out for fender issues front and rear, and top of the tire to the fender as well, again I don't do anything crazy ...yet lol if I can get a good deal on 36 vs 35 I shouldn't have any issues correct? Lol

Offset is calculated from backspacing, and rim width. (or, backspacing is calculated from rim width and offset.....) 8 inch wheel, 4 inch backspacing, is going to be 0 offset. (the mounting flange will be dead center in the rim.)

Oh ok so that's what you meant by a calculated value lol I got ya haha so then yeah everything should be good with a 12.5 inch tire lol I'll have to order everything and find out lol

0 offset if what's preferred correct? The ideal so to speak lol

Here's a chart that can help demonstrate the differences and how to measure backspace.

The less backspacing you run the more likely your tires will rub the bottom edge of the front fender, at the firewall when turning. And as you know, too much backspacing will make your tires contact the control arms when turning.
I think a 36" tire is to much without a 3" lift. Then again, the brand of tire plays a HUGE role. Find the tire you want to run and get the manufactures overall height measurement. This varies from brand to brand. For example; the generals jimythefan is running are huge. Even though they are marked as a 35x12.5, they run very true and are actually 35.2" x 13. Where as a BFG all terrain will measure 34 x 12 approx.
I think a 2" leveling kit with a 17x8 wheel and a 35x 12.5 tire would be the best route.
Whatever you choose be sure to post up some before and after pics.

Here are my 37X12.5 x 17's with 4.75 backspacing

Yeah for sure, it's no different than drag radials running wider or smaller even tho they are the same size lol

According to MasterCrafts site, the Courser MXT is a 35x12.5 tire for a 17 inch wheel.
The section width comes in at 12.7" and the overall diameter is slightly under true 35s measured in at 34.76 inches, so 1/4 shy of a true 35 (no bid deal for me lol).

I do agree it would appear that I would need a 2 inch level up front the clear them however it's still 50/50 only because it's not a true 35, and with a 4 inch bs it might not be an issue, if it is I'll find it out fairly quickly of course but it should only be very slight and I'll drive mindfully until I do get a level as it's no big deal at that point, just buttoning up is all.

Unfortunately for me there other things I have yet to tackle that will take alot more presedence at that point haha
