hello I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 3.9 I installed headers this weekend. My new headers didn’t have a port for the egr tube so I removed it and plugged the home for the intake manifold. I then removed the egr solenoid unplugged the sensor and vacuum line and made a block off plate where that was mounted. The sensor and vacuum line are still unhooked and now when I run the truck for 3-5 minutes my headers are cherry red and it stays idling at 2,000 rpms.
If I left the vacuum line unplugged that hooked to the egr solenoid could that cause it? I also had to torch the old o2 sensor out and put that back in the new y pipe I bought as well. I’ve torched o2 sensors and reused them before but maybe I messed this one up?
Plug them how? I was trying to figure out what I could use small enough to plug it. Thanks for the help though I’m thinking about starting with an 02 sensor and plugging that vacuum line. I thought maybe the egr solenoid needed to still be hooked up.

If you still have the line attached the it back (more then likely goes to some sort of T) and you can buy vacuum plugs (they are just rubber Fernda nipples) it you can take a little bigger screw, bolt, stick, etc to go into the line
