Default 5.2L to 5.9L engine swap

I have a 2000 ram 1500 2wd 5 speed 5.2. recently the motor blew up and I wanted to throw a 59 in there instead of the 52. Do I need a 5.9 l 2wd 5 speed computer or should mine work? Need the swap done in about 11 days so any info will help

Supposedly you need the computer to match the engine but not according to the Fastman. But you would have to look for a 2500 5.9 stick as the 5.9 was never paired with a manual in the 1500s. You might be able to even get the dealership to flash it.

The NV3500 should work as people over at pavementsucks are running then behind the 360 and it's holding up fine. Eventually though I would try to find it or buy new the NV4500. I saw them online brand new for $1800

The 5.2 pcm will run the engine, but, will tend to run lean in open loop. (when cold, or, at large throttle openings.) You should be able to get the PCM flashed for the larger engine without too much trouble. Worst case, buy a tuner from Hemifever, or Flyin' Ryan for the larger motor, and manual trans.
