My mechanic is doing the computer measurements and smoke test tonight for me for 10$. I'll report back on those as well.

Never heard of them. May be a large part of the problem....... Try it with 'em unplugged. See what happens. These trucks are notorious for not liking aftermarket sensors.

The most annoying issue this causes is when I am driving from 0 on a green light, especially while taking a turn, where people behind me will tailgate because the RPMs act up and I cant accelerate forward until it slowly reaches the shift and the bouncing goes away. Once the bouncing starts, I can not floor it because it will just bounce at a higher rpm without gaining actual speed. I can only floor it from atg least 10mph to get past the bouncing area, when it shifts around 30/35mph. Does that make sense?
Let me guess it doesn't do it once it's in second or higher?

If so mine did the same. It was the governor Pressure Solenoid. It got clogged up with metal shavings. I replaced it and the governor Pressure Sensor. Problem solved.

@Shadow Death. We realized that it actually does do it in 2nd gear sometimes as well, more rare than 1st,and only if it shifted into 2nd from the bouncy rpms.

Mobile mechanic said smoke test and fuel pressure test during drive were fine.

We unplugged upstream, then downstream, then both sensors, but the issue occurs with each. CEL came on as well, but when we replugged and reset battery CEL stayed off.

Found a cut line that I made a new thread about, trying to figure out what it is.

I guess all I have left are the spark plugs still and that governor sensor/solenoid.

I understand why this would be frustrating, C12Creed. If you end up going into the dealership, please let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help with that process.
