Ooops. Too far. If you were relatively close, I would come for a visit. But, you ain't even remotely "close".

Pics would be good. Make sure you have good light. I wanna see pics of both, where they go together, and also depth of the input hub where the trans shaft goes into.

How do the splines look on the transfer case? Something is stopping it. I just can't figure out what yet

 

I suspect its just a matter of getting the splines to line up properly. With the trans in park, try turning the output shaft of the t-case a bit while pushing it forward. See if anything changes.
