Idk if this truck will work on that new of a truck (it worked in my 86 Ram until I got a new cylinder), get a heavy duty screwdriver and a big hammer. Hammer it into the cylinder

should I be concerned haha! What’s the worst that could happen, I’ll try when I’m with the rig again if all else fails. Need to get my safety torx bits from work

Go visit the dealer with your vehicle title in hand, and some variety of ID that matches the name on the title. The dealer can then pull the stock key codes for your truck, and cut you a key. Last time I had to do that, it was less than 10 bucks.

then celebrate that you don't own a ford...who don't keep codes past 10 years. cost me $170 at the locksmith and that was me removing the door lock cylinder to get 6 of the 8 tumblers.

you may end up having to replace the ignition switch with the cylinder. cheaper than a lock smith but still a bit inconvenient. as far as i know there is no way to swap out just the cylinder without the key. you can possibly take apart a door lock if they are the same and see about making a key that fits. very time consuming but cheapest route.

the problem is...ignition lock cylinders have 2 more tumblers than the door cylinder...so the locksmith would have to guess at the last 2. My locksmith had to cut 2 dummy keys until he found the correct match.
