That is good to know though!
Unless you spend 90% of your drive time on the freeway, it likely doesn't make any difference at all.

That's why I got a tool box - for a trunk. It used to house all my tools and junk. Then I was fortunate to get a house with a garage last year. What a blessing!

No tonneau here. I need my box. Otherwise I would drive a SUV. But a truck isn't a truck without a toolbox. And I'm waaaaay too young for a topper. Although my friend who is 31 loves having a topper on his Ram. To each his own.

I have a garage lots of space to store tools . I want a toolbox but I don't want to get rid of my bed cover. I have a few bags back there. One is a BOB, another with jumper cables, a Dop kit (military instilled that in me) with a change of clothes and extra clothing to the season. Next is a bed rug. Might try to fit a toolbox onto the truck but would have to be water tight. What is a topper??

This.

And you can get flush mount tool boxes everywhere. And most boxes are waterproof.

Oh a truck cap! I will have to look into if I can shorten the bed cover. Do you ever miss the missing bed space?

No, as my tool box doesn't sit on the floor of the bed. But a flush mount box does so yeah, you'd miss some bed space. Depends what you need the bed for. I like being able to still shove long things under the box to utilize its 6.5' length. And with the gate down, I've got the full 8'.

You could get something like this low profile box so you can use it at the rear of the bed

The big one is the standard flush mount.

I like the standard ones that go over the bed rail. I just don't know if I can seal the tarp up against the box that's my dilemma

i have always liked the looks of the bed storage even tho i don't really like how you loose the depth of bed with them.
