Anyone have a favorite bed tool box that they like the fit/functionality of? I've been looking at various bed tool boxes from Highway Products that are more standard, but I'm also considering something like this Highway Products low-side truck tool box
HP is some awesome stuff. That's who'd I get if I could afford it.
My toolbox was assaulted in texas then finally stolen altogether. I wanted something durable but affordable. Love the HP stuff especially their low profile crossbox. Wow. Protech used to be the top but then they switched to crappy latches and their lids are easily pried up. HP still uses the best latch with pry-resistant designs.
But I ended up getting a small steel Delta Pro box that I mounted inside a Home Depot "Husky" box made by UWS with the rotary latches. Awesome box. Not as thick as the HP but for my needs, very secure. Plus they'd have to bypass the alarm and break through the Husky then the steel underbody Delta box. Good luck. By then, Mr. Glock will be asking questions.

Do you have a tarp on your truck? I seen they used to make a tarp with a built in toolbox, but now they don't. I just put on a Paragon tarp and don't want to get rid of it
You can't use a toolbox and a metal bed cover together. They interfere with each other, an old company used to make a metal bed cover with a built in toolbox like this:
I couldn't find it for any Rams.
According to Consumer Reports, your tonneau cover actually drops your highway mileage by almost a full point.
I was always under the impression it helped lol I have a metal "tarp" as they call it. It's retractable and can be removed in 45 seconds and still have access to 100% of the cargo space to haul. I'll leave it in there because it's lockable as is my tailgate and I keep my AR and my BOB (Bug Out Bag) under the tarp plus a few other emergency supplies.
That is good to know though!
