Truck won’t start after sparking
I was fixing my coolant temp sensor wires just now, and they started sparking when they hit the alt. I disconnected the battery but unfortunately the terminals layed back onto the battery. Now the truck won’t start, and I’m getting “no link” in scanner. Pretty sure I burnt my ecm up...? Also the mileage says “no bus”
i checked all fuses only one that was blown was the “cluster” 10amp, replaced that and nothing still.

Very possible. If the coolant sensor wires touched the fat wire going from the alternator to the battery it did create an unfused +12V to ground (the sensor is read to ground). There are two fuses for the PCM, #3 under the hood and #9 in the inside panel. Also check the ECM ground wiring from the ECM to the front of the engine if a ground wire burned up.
The two-wire sensor comes from/goes to the PCM. It's a five volt reference signal the sensor modifies, for the PCM to read. If you shorted that to the alt output, chances are REAL good you smoked the PCM.
Yeah it’s what I thought, where do I go about getting a new one? I see some online that I give vin and mileage to and they mail it already plug and play? Any experience with them?

Old post but you don’t happen to remember the vendor do you? When I purchased this PCM it came with a lifetime warranty so possibility I bought it through that vendor!
I don't think they are a sponsor here any more... I don't see their ad at any rate. I don't remember their name..... Can you go back thru your payment records to see who you bought it from?
