Moved truck to level ground and long extensions got it

 

truck still won't start got fuel and spark pulled cap and its got corrosion on the contacts but distributor is turning and of course of of the screws for distributor cap broke off in the distributor housing so it's going to my mechanic this week at some point its beyond my abilities at this point

lol yea fun sometime this week it's getting towed to the shop I noticed while cranking my teach still does not move so I'm thinking bad distributor

 

Well distributor was bad truck does run but gotta get new battery and still gotta adjust timing it's off a bit still

 

Well it's running again had a friend set the distributor by ear and I say he must have got it right on cause it runs good I tried having my mechanic put a timing light to it but could not find specs and everything we found online said there is no adjustment

 

There isn't. Moving the distributor doesn't affect ignition timing at all. It affects injector timing.

 

ahh ok cause we set it by ear and it seems to run fine

 

Need to make sure fuel sync is within spec. Need a fairly high-zoot scanner for that. The tolerance is pretty small, and can have a significant affect on performance.

 

Well it's running as good as it did before and being pre obd2 I haven't heard of a scanner for them let alone where any connection is for one then finding someone with a scanner for pre obd2
