The rear axle on that one was crusty, but the front was clean. Price at pic-n-pulls isn't bad, like a couple hundred each- however they expect you to remove and drag it to the gate w/o any help.... so its not something I'll stumble into and take home on a whim.
Man come up my way. $100 even for a front axle. Can drive in the yard and they even have a lift that can help you pick it up and you drive underneath it.

AFAIK they do interchange, but then there are some '02 Dana 60's that don't have CAD.

If you are talking about fj5gtx then no his son totalled the truck. You need the whole front axle to get the bigger brakes as the ball joints are different sizes

The guy said he was told it is from an '03 , but it has the CAD. He also said it has 4.88's which is where I want to end up in the end. I didn't pull the cover to verify but I believe the guy probably believes it, otherwise he wouldn't have invited me over to his house. I paid 450 US. Damn thing is heavy.

Thanks again, bro! Super stoked about it.

100% it's an '00-01 axle. Like I said if I were still out there I would have been tempted to pick that up. Good start to your project. Once you get the rear matched and that installed you're gonna want 37's I think lol. Like I said I wish I could have just gotten lucky with factory 4.10's like yours already has!

4.88 will be on the will be on the low side, especially with the truck unloaded, with my 35's. I think 4.56's would easily work for me but have always figured: what if I wanted 37's down the road? On the bright side, not much that will touch me off the line with that combo. Maybe, finally, every soccer mom SUV wont overtake me when I shift into 3rd gear and my 3rd will finally be use able again...haha

The only question now is what carrier do I want in the back. I'm thinking Eaton Truetrack.

Good find, but man is that pricey!

I finally got this back from the alignment shop and it seems trail/road ready. That part of the yard will need some recovery time though. As you see, a brake upgrade ended up getting a bit of feature creep. No more lift blocks or spacers!
