I bought 3 axles for $300

Just haven't seen to many 00-02 axles with proper gearing popping up on CL.

unfortunately I don't really have much time to look, or probably the knowledge to know where to look to score the very best deals.

.Id easily pay 300 for a single proper axle that didn't need a lot of fuss.

So far as I know, the gears are the same thoughout. So, find the right axle, and transplant your gears....

right now it looks like my local cl is dry even for that option. I've passed on a few that were either definite no's or don't know if it's 4:10's, in the last month or so. But these do seem to come up occasionally. Finding a 4.10:1 ready to go would help cut cost if I can find it Were 4.10's an option in those years?

They were indeed an option, but, it seems that very few folks elected to take 'em. 99% of the diffs I find are 3.55's. I have only seen a couple 4.10's, and those were out of ORE 1500's.

Might be an expensive excuse to give some 4.56's a try.

Can '95 CAD parts swap with 00-02 axles? How about control arm, spring, sway bar, etc perches?? Will all of that be the right size and line up?

Just to refresh my memory, you have a 1500 and are looking to swap 00-02 2500 axles right?

I haven't found too many 2500s in the pic-n-pulls, but the 3 that I have come across all had 4.10s. There was a good 2000 front D60 w/ 4.10s sitting in there a couple months ago, but it must have gone to the crusher because that truck seems to be gone now. The rear axle on that one was crusty, but the front was clean. Price at pic-n-pulls isn't bad, like a couple hundred each- however they expect you to remove and drag it to the gate w/o any help.... so its not something I'll stumble into and take home on a whim.
