Default 46re whine in gear only

Im having some trouble with my transmission. Rebuilt it about 600 miles ago and everything went great. Started whining in all gears but not park or neutral. No slipping at all and shifts great. It sounds like the torque converter is making the noise. Is there a way to check pressure on t/c pressure or for bad bearings in it? Its a patco 1800 stall.

You can check pressures if you have a gauge, there are test ports on the trans in various places. No way to check the internals of the t/c though, at least, not without cutting it open, which I really do not recommend.

Too many things can make it whine though. Low fluid, an internal leak, bands too tight, etc.

I will pull the pan first and recheck band. It worked fine up until this morning.

Found the problem. after we checked pressure adjusted bands and slopped tranny fluid on the floor, found it to be the junk patc converter. awesome get to remove transmission again. Gonna call them tomorrow and see what they will do about the tc.

Did it scatter debris thru the rest of the trans? If it blew up internally, highly likely it did.....

And it should have a warranty. Do you really want to buy another one, from someone else?
