i have a 1998 ram 1500 5.2
i have had this truck since new , it has 400,000 miles plus
same engine same trans ,it still like new inside & out
has had major tune, including aic motor, has no vac leaks
but is running rich ,has no cel light
went from 16 mpg to almost 14
i drive 100 miles per day
i am a mopar guy
and have no idea ,

How do you know it is running rich?

 

How old are the O2 sensors?

 

will like i said i have owned this truck since new
i can smell heavy rich from exhaust plus gas mileage drop
not that i care much about mpg

Have you checked the Intake Air Temperature Sensor and Evap Purge Valve Solenoid?

 

Dirty injectors ?

 

would not air temp sensor or purge sole cause cel
may be injectors but the truck runs good
like i said it gets driven 100 miles a day
