Question Transmission model clarification

Can I get a little help identifying the exact model number for the 5 speed manual transmission in my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab.
The engine is a 5.2 Magnum V8 and the rear axle is the 9.25".
On the build sheet the transfer case is listed as a 231HD and the code is DHKS.
On the build sheet the transmission is listed as a 5-Speed HD Manual Transmission and the code is DDC.

What model is this transmission? Is this the same transmission that is used with the 5.9 Magnum V8?

Thanks for the input in advance.

Default Time to start searching

Thanks for the answer, not what I was hoping.
Time to start looking for a NV 4500 to go along with my 360 swap.

You can use the 3500 behind the 360, just don't beat on it.

Default Transmission upgrade

No, with the engine I am putting together a stronger transmission and transfer case is in order.
Time to start scouring the wrecking yards.

Look for 3/4 or 1 ton Rams with the 360 gas, and manual trans. They will have the NV4500, and 241 t-case. Not real common though...... So can be fun to find.

Couldn't you also use the diesel transfer cases

Don't the diesels have a larger diameter output shaft on the trans?

That would be correct with the NV4500, also one behind the V10 has 29-spline output. But all the automatics have 23-spline outputs.

Default Correct input shaft

So, can I use the V10/diesel NV4500 with the 360 or is the input shaft the wrong size or spline count?
