Marty used to work for KRC performance, a company that is now defunct...... Apparently, he did some good work there, and I am not finding anything negative about him, of course, the only positive stuff I am finding is from way back when.... Hopefully, DaPepper will drift in, and have something to say, from what I am reading, he is familiar with him..... Don't know about recently.......

Another option would be to find a cam with similar specs elsewhere, and have a chat with flyin' ryan, or hemifever...... Both known quantities, and known to be good. I don't think Ryan does custom tunes via email any more though..... Check out his site, see what ya think.
I don't want to give him wrong information. I never dealt with him or heard anything. Now if he wanted cam suggestions then in his guy I have ran probably everyone on the market to date

I like the look of COMP Cams 20-744-9.

It does need heavier springs though.

I really don't want want the added expense of a spring upgrade. That was the appeal of Marty's cam to begin with.

I may just not fool with any of it. It would be nice to cam the truck, but I'm not dumping 1500 in the thing for 50hp

Might consider 1.7 ratio roller rockers then. Direct bolt-on, nothing else to do. They run 3-4 hundred bucks...... but, 10hp/tq for an hour or so of work. (harland-sharp roller rockers please. )

Yeah, cams and such have gotten expensive in the last decade or so.....

If you read his website the cam was designed around the kegger, which he has been doing extensive testing on. He recently came out with some volume reducing plates for the plenum to boost velocity and pump more torque out of it. His website is a fascinating read. The factory vacuum is about 18"Hg at idle, at least according to my gauge.

I wasn't around during the whole KRC time so I can't comment on that but Marty seems decent, at least he seems to be doing his research.

Hughes has been doing the 'plenum fill' for quite some time as well. According to theory, they actually get more power by doing so. Last time I looked, they had dyno charts up as well.
