Transfer Case Cracked
Rear driveshaft? If so, pull the bolts that hold the u-joint on to the differential, then you will likely need to pry the joint out of the yoke, (careful that it doesn't come apart, and spit the needle bearings everywhere.....) once it's free, get it clear of the yoke, then just pull back, and it should flop right out.
Got it, now the front shaft, that’s the part that broke and cracked the worst, it’s not stationary and moves everytime I go to loosen a bolt. My main question is does the front shaft slide out like the rear did or do I have to actually unbolt the front shaft from the transfer case?
thank you
thank you
Front shaft unbolts from the t-case. Given its floppy nature at this point, just stick something thru the available space, that you can use to jam it, and keep it from turning while you break bolts loose. That's gonna be challenging.
That lowest nut looks to be in tight spot, but should be possible to be removed w/o removing the crossmember/mount. I have different kind of mount, and there were no issues removing them nuts.
