How long was it sitting? It *could* be condensation....... but, that looks pretty wet for just that.... unless it was sitting for a LONG time. Think I might be tempted to seal up the cooling system, and put some pressure on it, see what happens.

Might pull a couple main/rod caps as well. See what the oil in there looks like.

I would delete this post, but, for whatever reason, the forums aren't letting me..... No idea what that's all about.

Apparently it's been sit n for quite some time? Not sure exactly how long? Sounds like it would get started maybe once a month to keep the battery charged. My brother was over there on Feb 22 when it was last started.

Gonna head out to the garage and start pull n the oil pan.

Default Stuck in Seattle cause covid

So here I sit waiting to get back to my island. Stocking up on parts for this engine. Anyone know which thermostat would be best for Alaska weather? 160,170,180,190? Wonder what the stock thermostat is? Cheers y'all! Hope everyone is virus free!!!

If I read the service manual correctly? It looks like it calls for a 190 thermostat? Should I run a 160-180 for colder Alaska temperatures? The temperature range up there is usually nothing over 70 degrees. Average temp is probably 50ish? In the summer it has gotten to 80 or even 90 on a rare hot summer! Or should I be run n a 190 to get more heat out of it? Thank you!

Stock is 190 or 195... don't recall which, stick with stock, its what the computer expects.

Do some reading if you can. The PCM prevents closed loop operation below "normal operating temperature", whatever that may be. I ran a 170 for awhile few years back, thought it hurt my mileage, so I pulled it for a 180. The block/head water jacket is open constantly to the heater core and to the bypass through the bottom of that oddball thermostat, supposedly to ensure a slower, more even cylinder expansion/warmup, better ring seating, longer bore life. This is why a person can overcool this engine on a long downhill grade in the Rockies in cold weather. I restrict airflow through the radiator in really cold weather.

Are there threaded holes in the damper you can put some bolts into, for the other style of puller?
