Default 1999 dodge ram 1500 truck w/1996 trans both 46re

But in 96 did they have more than 1 wiring diagram on the 8 pin trans plug? The person who put in the 96 trans changed the wires somewhat and one jackass that started to work on the 96 the trucks 2nd trans saw that the wires were spliced together differently than original cut them and switched it back to same color w/same color thinking that was the problem! That was the 1st thing he did he did not know that that trans worked fine wired like that for 3 years!!! Any ideas on a different pin placment for that plug or are they all the same rrregardless of year , model, or engine??? Please help! Just had the trans completely overhauled and it will not shift out of 1st gear

Getting any codes?

Both connectors have the same pinout. C167 on the 96 truck, C130 on the 99.
