Lots of lift, and 44" tires, or maybe even larger by now....... 5.5 feet probably doesn't even come up to his hood.

01 Ram 5in lift 40" tires got 45"s but have to do some trimming. When I tried my makeshift snorkel (looked stupid imo made out of PVC) I had water over my hood

One MAJOR warning about high water transits. Make sure the road is still under there. Back in the 80's when I was a rescue volunteer, we went looking for a guy who decided to drive through a couple of feet of water. The road had washed out and his truck dropped off the pavement. The truck was found as soon as the water went down and we could get in there. It took a week to find his remains in some brush.

Also water turns to steam when it hits hot exhaust, then travels upward where the ignition is. Had a problem with my power wagon where water would fall down from the hood/cowl and do just this. The fix was to spray some WD40 into the distributor cap.

I use die electric grease on EVERYTHING electrical, even inside the cab. I think that's why I never had an issue
