No Brake Lights
I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 v10 and having a problem with the brake lights not working.
So here is the situation:
Driving with trailer to another state and back (I found out mid trip that the 7 way plug for the trailer wasn't wired properly).
I had no trailer brakes during the trip cuz the controller wasn't working for whatever reason.
Before heading back I I check the fuses and see that the 40 amp trailer fuse and 20 amp stop lamp fuse are blown. This is when I realized that I had no more brake lights.
Turning signals work, tail lights work, hazards work, reverse lights work, just no brake lights.
I got back and replaced the fuses, replaced the brake light switch, and replaced the brake light bulbs. Still no brake lights.
These fixes are the extent of my knowledge on what to do. If anyone has any ideas I would very much appreciate it!
Thanks!

Brake lights also go thru the multi-function switch. Brakes and turn signals use the same filament in the bulb. Since the turn signals work, likely your problem is in the column somewhere.
No, although honestly I don't know that it ever has.
Yeah, hold the brake down, see if you have power going into the mf switch, from the brake switch, then see if you have power coming out of the mf switch.
The high center stop light and the signal for the brake controller are connected via splices that sit before the multifunction switch. If both the center stop light and the brake controller don't work I don't think the MF switch is the culprit. If you have a voltmeter check if the brake controller gets 12V signal when pressing the brake pedal. It's typically the red wire going to the brake controller. Also, disconnect the controller to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Here's an update.
Replaced multi function switch and it didn't do the trick.
I bought a different 3rd brake light with LEDs instead of replacing bulbs. No brake lights, however the cargo light works.
Disconnected controller and nothing changed either.
I'll work on finding a voltmeter around here somewhere and doing what you said.
Any other ideas now that I'm sure the 3rd brake light also doesn't work?
I was wondering if it could have anything to do with the 7 way plug on the truck? It got a little messed up and bent because the 7 way cord wasn't quite long enough and pulled on it when I made sharp turns. So I was wondering if disconnecting the harness for that might do something (or if it's bad to disconnect it)
Thanks again everyone

I would mark, then snip all the wires and see what happens.Make certain they don't short between each other.
Thanks everyone, the problem has been solved.
I decided to take it to an auto electric place and turns out the new brake light switch was bad. He installed another one and they worked.
As for the new 3rd brake light not working, turns out it was also broken.
Since then I got a new LED 3rd brake light and it works.
Might be posting a thread at some point on how to wire a resistor since the cargo light part stays on indefinitely so I had to disconnect the wire for that.
Anyway, thanks again!
