Need help with my 97 Dodge Ram 1500

Default Need help with my 97 Dodge Ram 1500

I just bought a water pump for 97 Dodge Ram 1500 bolted it up and now it’s leaking from the bottom of the pump what do I do

Replace it. You can get a bad one out of the box

Once you're in that deep, throw a timing chain on it too.

i know it’s been awhile I got the water pump thing fixed but now I had to replace the whole gear in the timing but it seem every time I line it up it’s 180 out and I’ve tried this five times now what do I do from this point

Some timing sets have 2 sets of dots on them. It's the smaller dots that are the timing mark. Take some pictures so we can have a look.

I took the picture and tried to add it but it won’t seem to add it but yes it does two smaller dots as on both gear that are in line with each other once I put it all back together I tried to start it and I got a back fire but it won’t start up like I have no compression everything just kinda spins and nothing happens

I do believe that with the dots at 6 and 12, cylinder 6 is in firing position.

tried this and it worked I am in time but I still don’t have a truck that starts

Did you move the distributor at all in your travels thru the engine compartment? Got spark? Fuel pressure? Injector pulse?

I never did move the distributor or anything that had to do with it im checking here in like six hours when the suns up so that way I can figure out if I need a fuel filter or fuel pump or a new ignition coil and distributor cap or any of the components like that
