Can't do it. At least, not easily. You would need to rewire pretty much the entire truck, just for a trans swap..... Better off rebuilding what you have, or getting another RH trans.

What are your plans for the truck? If you want to modify the engine you'll need to go with the PCM from the 97 so you can use a tuner. Otherwise you need a stand alone computer. You'd kill two birds with one stone if you install the 97 PCM and harness.

you'll be effort (and probably money) ahead to just bite the bullet and buy the right one...

Plans for the truck are just driving it. It has 255,00 on the original motor and tranny. Needless to say it's getting tired. I've acquire a 97 2500. Already swapped the running gear, motor is bad, but tranny is a fresh rebuild. Just trying to use everything I can without too much trouble.

Swap the stuff and your engine back in the 97. Or is the body nasty?

Nasty is a compliment to this truck.
