Default 1995 Ram 46RH Transmission Question

I purchased a 1995 Ram 1500 5.2 with 99,000 miles on it a few weeks ago. It seems to have a 2nd gear slip. It only happens if I am in the throttle and the rpms go above 2700. When it slips, it will go above 3000 RPM till I back of the throttle then it will shift into third. From reading, I have found a couple things to do.

1. Check Fluid, in neutral
2. Change Fluid and Filter
3. Adjust Bands? Not really sure if this will help my particular problem.

I have also read that these transmissions were over machined and most likely fluid is leaking past one of the seals causing this slip. So my actual question is, would adding something like Lucas Slip Stop help this issue, or is that stuff more of a waste of money? Thanks in advance.

How can I check pressure? Is there a procedure you can guide me to?

Grab the service manual for your truck from here. Procedures are in the trans section.
