One gallon of water weighs around 8 pounds. One gallon of diesel weighs around 7 pounds and gasoline is slightly less dense.

I estimated the specific density to be pretty close to stabilized hydrocarbon condensate at 700 kg/cubic meter or 1000 liters, or .7kg(700g) per liter. 2.2 lbs. per kg.
My tank is probably close to 100 U.S. gallons or 378 liters. Probably the most I usually get in there is about 350. One liter by my estimate weighs 1.54 lbs., so US gal=5.8212.

According to a quick search, I found the actual weight to be somewhere from 710-770 g/l.

I work in logistics. I checked one of my cheat sheets. One U.S. gallon of gasoline weighs 6.3 pounds, not counting the container. If you go with Imperial gallons, it weighs 7.25 pounds per gallon.

I know that this is an old thread, if it was me I would swap an used newer LS truck engine (5.3/6.0/6.2) with a 6L90 transmission/tcase (get a manual tcase), depending on your wallet. I think your in the Edmonton area, last year I found a 2012 LS 6.0/6L90 4x4 low mile 3/4 ton engine (less than 100000 km's) for $2600, complete with ecm/harness/accessory. Pretty easy swap, just need to get driveshafts built. The 6L90 has a lower first gear (4.0 first gear/0.66 final drive vs. 46 re 2.45 first gear/0.69 final drive)

That 408 engine that lever picked out has a fairly big camshaft that will need a stall converter and some gears. 46re transmissions were never a good choice to add power to. Going the dodge build route is more traditional but pricey/more tricky to get to work in the end.

just my two cents

Personally I would never put an LS into a Mopar

Lol! This won't be an old thread til spring time! I'm not stuck on any particular power output. Just lots of torque. Not really that big a cam for over 400 cid.

Not totally opposed to bastardizing, but I don't want to overcomplicate things, and I'd like more than a stock 6.0 puts out, unless maybe it's one of the new ones.

Already have a manual transfer case, and talked to my transmission builders, and I should be good for 450 ft/lbs to 500 ft/lbs torque. Of course if I'm using all 500, all the time, my transmission isn't going to last super long before I'll need a rebuild.

a Chevy in a mopar????!! That’s just not right!! Lol. Like putting a Chevy motor in a ford, in some parts of the country, your personal safety would be questioned!! But hey, I’m always interested in motor swaps, my first was a Chevy 350 into a Mazda rx4!

a hellcat into a second gen truck?? OOOh! Gives me goose bumps!! Lol

Indeed, me too. But, spending 30 grand plus, for the motor, trans, etc, to drop into my 3000 dollar truck? Hhhmmmm...... Somehow, that price, and 'budget friendly' don't go together very well. (but, oh man, would that be FUN!! )
