Default No start dodge

I have a 1998 Dodge 1500 5.2l 5 speed. Truck wont start unless l boost it, I have changed the battery,I'm leaning toward the either the solenoid is shot or the whole starter is done. I have checked the starter relay fuse and it is fine. Am I leaning in the right direction or could it be something else?

Does it crank over slowly or just click before you jump it?

Battery is not holding enough charge. Question is why. Is it old or is it a wire or is it the alternator?

Starter is most likely old and getting stuck. This is a extremely common symptom of a failing starter motor. Take it off and get it tested, if it fails a test get a new one(recommended) or attempt to clean and grease your old one

Is it the relay clicking, or the starter?

I had a similar problem on my 1995 Ram 2500 and it was where the wires connect to the starter. The connectors on the starter were bad, rusty and rotted. I replace the starter and that fixed the problem.

Check your cables first, but if it takes 2 batteries to spin the starter, it's shot.
