Default 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 P/U Club cab 2WD 5.2L Automatic Transmission

How to get a build sheet to my rear differential, and how to determine what kind I have, something broke and put about a 2inch gash in my rear differential cover, where to start? I'm mechanically inclined for the most part, but having the right tools is always my problem.Any help would be appreciated. Here is a pic. Of my differential cover.

Start by pulling the cover and see what broke. I'm guessing the cross pin. Looks to be Chrysler 9.25 rear axle. No need for the build sheet, you can see everything you need after you pull the cover (gear ratio, limited slip or not).

Somewhere on here is a link you put your VIN in and get the build sheet, but I can't find it again.

The only one I've ever seen with the head broken off sheared it on a large sharp rock. As for twisting the heads off, I guess it's possible but I've never seen it.

Default RE: Week 1 discussion

I went to the site but the build sheet is only available for 98 and newer models, mine is a 95. But here are some more pics of the inside after I took the cover off.

Look at that gear oil, looks like it has never been changed. Wow!!!

It's chewed up really bad. Can't you buy a rebuild kit to rebuild the differential. Instead of replacing the whole rear end?
