Default P0720/cruise control not working

So, a few months ago, I posted a thread asking about the 47re not locking the torque converter and all that jazz, finally got the throttle position sensor replaced, and that fixed the lockup issue, but not the cruise control malfunction. So tonight, I stuck the code reader on the truck, and got a P0720 code, output speed sensor. 1. Could someone steer me to where its located on the 47re? And two, it never illuminated the check engine light, but is displayed as a current fault in the ecm. Should this have turned on the check engine light? (Truck is a early 1998 2500 v10 4x4) Also, would that be the cause of cruise control not working?

Side of the trans, (drivers) toward the back. It just screws into the side of the trans.

Whether it turns on the CEL or not seems to be rather hit and miss...... I never did understand dodges "logic" there.... if they even had any.

Ok, thanks. It seems like it takes alot to turn the light on, cause I've had a plug wire come loose, and it didn't trip the light dragging a dead cylinder.

Yeah, I had the same issue. Completely dead cylinder, and the PCM didn't seem to notice. I didn't even have a pending misfire code...... (plug wire was burnt completely in half.... no way that cylinder was firing.)

Yeah I looked it up, it appears that the v10 didnt come with a knock sensor, either standard or at all.

Neither did any of the magnum engines of that generation. Which I thought was a major oversight..... PCM determines misfire by the crankshaft position sensor. How fast it goes past, and the interval between pulses I would imagine....
